Alan McMackin became a lawyer in 1978. He went on to spend the next several years honing his litigation skills with the Federal Business Development Bank and subsequently formed a partnership with Sims Brady. As Alan’s skills and abilities continued growing, he decided in the late 1980’s to open his own Litigation practice in Whitby.
In 2014, Alan’s oldest son Ryan joined the practice. Ryan quickly began handling a wide range of litigation matters all the way from start to finish. While many lawyers have never done a Trial after decade(s) of practice, Ryan has been doing Trials since his first year as a lawyer. This experience, combined with Alan’s constant mentoring and guidance has allowed Ryan to become a skilled, knowledgeable and tenacious litigator.
After a legal career consisting of upwards of 100 Trials, including appearing before the Supreme Court of Canada and 1000’s of satisfied clients Alan has moved on to be a Deputy Judge. Ryan continues to run the business with Alan’s guidance, mentorship and support.
