McMackin law is a family litigation business that started in the late 1980’s. The business was started by Alan McMackin in the late 1980’s out of his office building in Whitby. Over time as the practice grew due to Alan’s success, he continued to add more properties to the business’s portfolio. In 2016, Alan decided to move the main office to Bowmanville.
Alan was a litigation lawyer for over 40 years. During that time, he appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, successfully argued in dozens and dozens of trials, was named a Deputy Judge and provided high quality legal services to many businesses and individuals.
In 2014, Alan’s oldest child Ryan joined the practice full time. Alan almost immediately had Ryan doing trials right out of law school. These experiences combined with Alan’s mentoring and guidance has allowed Ryan to learn how to be an effective litigator. In 2019, Alan decided to retire from the practice of law and left the business to be run by Ryan. Despite retiring as a practicing lawyer Alan is still frequently in the Court house sitting as a Deputy Judge.
Ryan is focused on maintaining high levels of client communication and providing quality results. He is open and honest with his clients from the beginning about their cases, the hurdles they will face and chances of success.
