McMackin Law has been serving residents of Courtice for over 25 years in Civil Litigation, Employment and Business matters. The practice started in the late 1980’s when Alan McMackin opened his litigation practice in nearby Whitby. In 2014 Alan’s son Ryan joined the practice and in 2016 the main office was moved to Bowmanville. Alan retired from the practice of law in 2019 to be a Deputy Judge, leaving Ryan to run the business. Ryan has continued the family business under Alan’s mentoring and guidance.
Alan appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, was successful in dozens and dozens of trials and provided quality service to hundreds and hundreds of clients over a career spanning 40 years. Few lawyers can match Alan’s court room experience. Ryan was extensively mentored by Alan in the art of litigation and Alan continues to mentor Ryan during his retirement.
Ryan understands the importance of attention to detail. While every client wants results, they also want high levels of communication. In order to best keep clients informed he provides clients his direct number. You will not be left speaking to staff members wondering what is happening in your case.
Ryan is committed to being open and honest with his clients. He would rather lose a potential client then oversell them on their chances of success. Ryan will advise you of both the good and bad of your case as well as any difficulties he anticipates you will face. Every case matters to us.
